Rick Palumbo of RPM Tech kindly sent me these photo's of his conversion which give a better idea of how the motors were fitted.
The motors he used are detailed below Beetle B104 Gearmotor 104:1
These are some awesome motors for your Beetleweight (3 pound) robot, or for a steroid-powered Antweight. Also great for applications that require high-torque lifting or movements of arms, etc.
This 104:1 gear ratio is a bit slower for combat robots, but provides massive torque!
All-metal planetary gearbox with metal gears. You'll be able to push your way through just about anything with a huge 247oz-in of torque!
