Started work getting this ready to fly - April 2010

4 HS81 SERVOS,
45 AMP SPEED CONTROLLER,
HI-TEC ECLIPSE 7 R/C SET WITH CHARGER AND PCM8 RX.
GREAT FLYER RUN TIMES OVER 7 MINS FULL POWER AND FLIGHTS ON THE SLOPE IN EXCESS 40 MINS ALSO FLOWN WITH 2200 11.1 3 CELL LIPOLY 28MIN FLIGHT TIMES.
Has weathered paint effect for greater scale look.

Looking much better after some repairs to the tail, I am planning to fly this on a Zippy LiPo 2350mAh at 20C gives max 47A only just within the 45A speed controller limit, the previous owner said that he had 28mins flight times, which is quite good and it will be much lighter than flying with the 3200mAh Nicad pack. The Li-Po is 200g the 8 cell Nicad pack is 500g

Having to install some packing to stop the Li-Po from moving, it has to go abit further back than the Nicad to get the C of G correct - see picture on left
Also added a velco strap to hold the pack down.

I have measured the current taken with the Li-Po setup and (static) it was 33A continuous and can peak at around 40A, which is fine for the speed controller and battery current limit. Using a 7x4 prop, with the original 8x4 prop peak current could reach 50A so I had to down size the prop.
Test flight went well, the model flies smoothly with no nasty surprises, (summer 2011) I am currentl using a wing gyro with this model to help give smooth flights. As this model has to be belly landed you either need long grass or smooth short grass.
