Looking at the real rocket design I can't duplicate it, the lanching tubes on the model have small bolts projecting into the tubes, these could snag a rocket as it launches, so I need to move towards a design that has fins so that the bolt heads will pass between the fins as the rocket launches.

My first attempt is a modified Maverick from Estes, pictured.

This proved that I can launch successfully from the model but the rocket was not stable in flight and soon started tumbling (end over end) after launch.

After looking around for another design I can't find anything suitable so I had to design a new rocket from the ground up. I have no experience with rocket design and decided I needed help.
Investigating rocket design programs led me to RocketSim & SpaceCad which gives a good mix of technicality and easy of use, so I downloaded the free trial and after a couple of hours had a working design in the simulator.
I have now ordered the parts and await their arrival, some are being made to order so I will have to wait 28 days. My second attempt also had the same problem, so I have now purchased an Estes Firestreak SST which I hope to modify.
After a number of attempts this is proving very difficult and it looks like I will need to design a folding fin system to get a large enough fin area after the rocket has left the launch tube.
