Even with 2 x Crawler motors installed this model doesn't have much power, it is using the lowest gear in the gearboxes but still accelerates slowly, operating on grass is not a good idea, it's top speed is about right at jogging pace on smooth roads etc.

The speed controller is a dual brushed motor ESC rated at 120A (much higher than needed)
It has BEC and an on/off switch which I mounted under the fuel filler cover.

The receiver is a FrSky 4 channel 2.4Ghz unit, all four channels are used, the third being turret rotation via an old lower power speed controller and the fourth is connected to the Sound Switcher module which allows me to switch the engine sounds on/off and sound a horn.

The sound module fitted is a Mtroniks digiSound5mNDD
although it's a diesel sounding unit it's OK for this model, some of the real M8's were converted to diesel engines after the war.
